This Delta Pilot Had to Do a Crazy Quick Dodge to Avoid a Huge Bomber
Okay, listen, you’re not gonna believe this. There was this Delta flight coming into this airport in North Dakota — Minot, I think. Everything was normal, just like any other flight, right? Then outta nowhere, the pilot spots this giant military bomber — one of those B-52s. These things are huge, like seriously massive.
But get this — no one told the pilot it was even nearby. Like, zero warning. So the pilot had to make a split-second decision and basically yanked the plane up and turned sharply to avoid crashing into it. Can you imagine? Passengers probably felt the plane suddenly lurch and got pretty freaked out.
What I love about this is, after they landed, the pilot didn’t keep it quiet or try to play it cool. Nope, he got on the mic and told everyone exactly what went down. He apologized for the sudden move and said he wasn’t warned about the bomber at all. People actually clapped for him! I guess they liked how honest he was.
Now, with all the tech and radar and everything, you’d think the military and commercial flights would be talking nonstop, right? But apparently not, because this kind of thing happened. Like, how does that slip through? Kinda scary, honestly.
Anyway, it just goes to show that pilots gotta be ready for anything — they can’t just sit back and relax. That quick move the pilot made? Probably saved lives.
So yeah, flying might seem chill most of the time, but stuff like this reminds you that it can get wild real fast.
