Republican Congressman Trey Gowdy of upstate South Carolina is one of the most powerful members of Congress. He serves as Chairman of the Subcommittee that covers investigations as part of the Committee on the judiciary, so he has a lot to say when it comes to the investigation that special counsel Robert Mueller is running.
While Mueller’s probe is clearly a scare tactic against President Donald Trump run by the left, it has yielded many deeply damaging pieces of information about how Democrat Hillary Clinton conducted her unsuccessful campaign in 2016.
In an interview with Fox News, Rep. Gowdy shared how Hillary’s campaign laundered money by having lawyers from the firm it hired fund the “dossier” against Trump and then say that it was just part of legal work. Stated Trey, “I’m not an election law expert. But the good news is you don’t have to be to understand the absurdity of believing that you can launder all of your campaign money by just hiring a law firm.
He elaborated, “Imagine if you and I were running for Congress and we just hired a law firm and said ‘Hey you go do all the oppo, you go buy all the television, you go buy all the bumper stickers, you go hire all the experts and we’re gonna launder all of this through a law firm. I can’t think of anything that defeats the purpose of transparency laws more than that.”
Trey also had harsh words for the special counsel’s investigation team, particularly wth how they have been leaking information to the liberal media. Stated Rep. Gowdy, “In the only conversation I’ve had with Robert Mueller, it was stressing to him the importance of cutting out the leaks. It’s kind of ironic that the people charged with investigating the law and executing the law would violate the law. And make no mistake, disclosing grand jury material is a violation of the law. Somebody violated their oath of secrecy.” Do you think both Hillary and Mueller’s team have broken the law? Watch below:
