Breaking: A Top GOP Just Demanded That Anti-Trump Mitch McConnell Steps Down

Republican Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky has had a long run as Senate Majority Leader. However, it recently has not proven to be a productive one, as he has been behind the Republican establishment’s sabotaging of President Donald Trump’s plans to advance his agenda.

Now, thankfully, it looks as though Sen. McConnell’s run in his key leadership is about to end. In a news conference, many influential conservative groups including Tea Party Patriots, FreedomWorks for America anf the Senate Conservatives Fund held a press conference where they formally expressed their lack of confidence in Mitch as head of the Senate Republicans. They then sent McConnell a letter where they put their wishes to him directly that he step down.

Declared former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, who has been leading this effort to oust McConnell, in a recent interview, “This wasn’t sudden. There have been problems with McConnell for a long time.”

He added, “You will recall in years past, he’s said, ‘Just get us the Senate and we’ll take on President Obama.’ Well, they didn’t take on President Obama. ‘Just get us the House — just get us the presidency.’ Well, now all those are in Republican hands. Here we are closing in on the end of October and they literally haven’t passed a major legislative accomplishment.”

Cuccinelli went on about the need to remove McConnell as soon as possible, “It is not beyond the realm of possibility that we could get to Jan. 20, 2019, without any of what I’d call ‘the big three’ items the president campaigned on: securing the border, including the wall; tax cuts; and the repeal of Obamacare — which they’ve been campaigning on for four elections.” Do you think McConnell needs to listen and step down now?
