It is disgusting how much hatred of America, its values, its symbols and its heritage have become normalized in our country, following the disastrous presidency of Black Lives Matter enabler Barack Obama.
Multi-millionaire professional football players are now routinely kneeling during the National Anthem before games, as though openly disrespecting our flag and the members of our military has somehow become its own anti-American tradition.
This practice has started to spread to amateur ranks as well. Thankfully, when college quarterback at Albright College in Pennsylvania decided to be just like Colin Kaepernick and kneel before a game, the college ended up taking swift action against him by kicking him off the team altogether.
The team decided that they would kneel during the coin toss and stand during the anthem, but quarterback Gyree Durante decided to defy his teammates and remain kneeling. Durante later tried to defend himself by saying that he was “taught you fight for what you believe in and you don’t bow to anyone.” He added, to local station NBC 10, “For me it just happened to be on Saturday afternoon.”
Durante’s teammates expressed disgust and disappointment at his defiance. Said former teammate Josh Powell, “We trusted him throughout the week, after time and time again he told us he would stand. When you can’t have a player on a team that you can trust, he’s got to go.” In booting Durante from the team, the school in a statement stated that Durante was aware that “there may be consequences for those who choose not to support the team.” Are you glad that Albright College dismissed this protester from the football team?
