This Wednesday, Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) came forward with new series of the infamous articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, all with the goal of forcing out a House vote on removing him from office. Green’s newly-released articles of impeachment were introduced as “privileged,” which only means that they must be taken into consideration on the House floor within two legislative days.
But just as the tensions of the whole situation started to skyrocket and the GOP president officer moved to begin the process, Green didn’t show up, and as result, the resolution was not offered and is not getting an imminent vote. And now, Green has stated he will force a procedural vote to challenge the GOP’s ruling, which would have served as first formal referendum in Congress on the matter of impeachment.
His articles explain how the commander-in-chief is “fueling an alt-right hate machine,” adding how that is “causing immediate injury to American society.”
One of the main points of impeachment cited in Green’s articles were over the POTUS’ response over the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, VA., the attacks against protesting NFL players which disrespect the national anthem, as well as many other previously seen leftist motivated topics of hate speech against the Trump administration.
This also isn’t the first time that outraged Democrats have called for the impeachment of the president, but unfortunately for them, things haven’t worked out quite good until now, and chances are, they will be facing some setbacks again when it comes to the American people who actually elected Trump.
