Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA): Nancy Pelosi should prepare to resign

Democrats are still reeling from their presidential election loss. They seem to be lost when it comes to working towards a common goal.  All of them are working against each other for different reasons. It is sad to see. But given the circumstances, it is not surprising to see some inter-party fighting. That is exactly what happened here. Nancy Pelosi is aging and many Democrats think that it is time for her to step down from her post.

Rep. Linda Sanchez did an interview recently and she made it clear that it is time for her to go. And many would agree with her. This is what happens when there is someone like Nancy Pelosi is still in office. Democrats are starting to see that she is not the answer. But it is far too late for them.

“I do think we have this real breadth and depth of talent within our caucus and I do think it’s time to pass a torch to a new generation of leaders and I want to be a part of that transition,” Sanchez told reporters.

“I want to see that happen. I think we have too many great members here that don’t always get the opportunities that they should. I would like to see that change,” said Sanchez, who serves as vice chairwoman of the House Democratic Caucus.

She then talks about Pelosi and other old timers. Sanchez thinks that it is time for a new generation of lawmakers.

“They are all of the same generation and again, their contributions to the Congress and the caucus are substantial. But I think there comes a time when you need to pass that torch. And I think it’s time,” she said.

Nancy Pelosi has been serving since 1988 and has led House Democrats for many years. It would definitely be a big change to see her go. But at this point, Democrats are willing to do anything to take down Trump. If that means they have to start over completely, that is exactly what they will do. What do you think about her comments on Pelosi?
