CBS exec fired after saying Las Vegas victims didn’t deserve sympathy

This Monday, a top legal executive from CBS was fired after taking it to Facebook to write several unsuited comments in response to the horrific shooting incident which took place in Las Vegas at a country music concert overnight.

CBS legal executive Hayley Geftman-Gold took it to a comment section on Facebook to write, “If they wouldn’t do anything when kids were murdered I have no hope that Repugs will ever do the right thing,” which of course, referred to Sandy Hook, adding, “I’m actually not even sympathetic bc country music fans often are Republican gun toters.”

This however, sparked outrage among both leftist and conservative supporters, and now, a swift reaction from CBS has been made. A statement was released by the network which read that the individual, “violated the standards of our company and is no longer an worker of CBS. Her views expressed on social media are deeply unacceptable to all of us,” adding how their hearts “go out to the victims in Las Vegas and their families.”

While CBS has previously expressed a hostile coverage on the Republicans in the last attack on the GOP congressional baseball team which left Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise in hospital back in June, the comments made by the Geftman-Gold seemed as a step too far even for them. An official response by the White House hasn’t been issued as of yet, and the original post which included the comments of the executive was deleted.
