According to one of Hollywood’s biggest conservatives, comedian Tim Allen, the star of ABC’s canned “Last Man Standing” sitcom, there is “nothing more dangerous” than a likeable conservative in Hollywood.
Allen recently took the time to open up during an interview about his dismay, following the decision of ABC network to cancel his popular show with skyrocketing ratings, further explaining how the network itself handled the cancellation of the show “badly.”
And despite ABC’s claims that the comedy show’s cancellation had nothing to do with politics, that still doesn’t explain the fact why the network cancelled their second-most popular show on the channel, with “Modern Family” being the first.
But according to Allen, politics did play a large part in the cancellation of the show, or at least, influenced the head of the network to make the decision and pull the plug on the show. Tim explained how conservative characters, such his role “Mike Baxter,” push boundaries in Hollywood, which is what makes them dangerous, saying, “I said there’s nothing more dangerous to me, especially in this climate, than a funny, likable conservative. That was the most dangerous thing.”
He then went on to explain how, “the guy was a likable guy. He really was a principled guy, just about work and ethics and all this stuff. I think there’s nothing more dangerous right now than a likable conservative character.”
