George Clooney Attacks President Trump And Steve Bannon

Here we go again. It’s been a few weeks since George Clooney has had any positive press, or any press at all, so perhaps he’s creating his own. He’s on the warpath and his targets are, once again, Donald Trump, and Steve Bannon.

Independent Journal Review reported:

Clooney specifically criticized Trump for his response to violent protests in Charlottesville, Virginia, as well as his description of Hollywood as elitist. It was wrong, Clooney said, for Trump to claim he was a “man of the people” while living a lavish lifestyle and deriding the “Hollywood elite.”

“Hollywood elite? I don’t have a star on Hollywood Boulevard, Donald Trump has a star on Hollywood Boulevard! F**k you!” Clooney said during his interview with The Daily Beast.

Clooney added about this Trump and elitism:

“People in Hollywood, for the most part, are people from the Midwest who moved to Hollywood to have a career. So this idea of ‘coastal elites’ living in a bubble is ridiculous. Who lives in a bigger bubble? He lives in a gold tower and has twelve people in his company. He doesn’t run a corporation of hundreds of thousands of people he employs and takes care of. He ran a company of twelve people! When you direct a film you have seven different unions all wanting different things, you have to find consensus with all of them, and you have to get them moving in the same direction. He’s never had to do any of that kind of stuff. I just look at it and I laugh when I see him say ‘Hollywood elite.’”

Then Clooney let loose on Steve Bannon. Notice how he elevates a career in Hollywood over a political career:

According to Clooney, Bannon was “a p***y” who wrote one of “the worst scripts” he’s ever read. “It’s just f**kin’ terrible,” Clooney remarked of the script.

“Steve Bannon is a little wannabe writer who would do anything in the world to have had a script made in Hollywood,” Clooney said before claiming that Bannon would be “kissing [his] ass” if he were in Hollywood.

“But here’s the truth: if Steve Bannon had Hollywood say, ‘Oh, this is really great, and a really good script,’ and had they made his movie, he’d still be in Hollywood writing his f**kin’ movies and kissing my ass to be in one of his f**kin’ films!” Clooney argued.

Clooney lamented the fact that Bannon didn’t succeed in Hollywood because if he did, Clooney reasoned, he might not have been as active in politics.

There must be something in the water on the left coast that exacerbates narcissism. Clooney is off the rails.
