Hillary Clinton: Melania Trump isn’t doing enough to fight cyberbullying

Hillary Clinton said first lady Melania Trump is not doing enough to fullfill her pledge during the campaign to initiate a movement to oppose cyberbullying.

“No, no, and, look, I don’t think anybody is doing enough on cyberbullying,” Clinton saidwhen Mic asked if Trump was making progress combating online bullying.

Trump announced in November that opposing cyberbullying would be her primary focus as first lady. “Our culture has gotten too mean and too rough, especially to children and teenagers,” Trump said.

Clinton acknowledged that cyberbullying “has a particularly damaging effect on young people — who are so influenced by and personally affected by what is said about them or said to them.”

Trump has not reached out to leaders of the anti-cyberbullying movement yet, Mic previously reported.

First ladies typically take on a cause once in the White House.

Former first lady Michelle Obama launched an initiative to combat childhood obesity while in the White House. She replaced the standard food pyramid with a food plate, which delineated proper nutritional balance and divided food groups.
